Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the Best Candidate for EMSculpt in Orange County?

EMSculpt is a revolutionary new idea with an ingenious technology. It has the ability to provide anyone that is trying to improve both their look and how they feel about themselves. The potential to have not just a thinner and more shapely body – but a firmer and more muscular one as well – is nothing short of an incredible asset to the modern cosmetic world.

It’s tempting for anyone that is interested in improving their look to consider EMSculpt. But not everyone can see the benefits of the toned sculpted abs if they have too much fat over the treated area.  Fortunately, at our center, we can offer you a number of options for fat reduction through liposuction by Dr. Agha, or non-invasive CoolSculpting or UltraShape Power.

Over abs, EMSculpt is able to burn adjacent fat by increasing muscle mass and thus metabolism. Thus, it is a better procedure for those with an average BMI already that are toning and shaping their body rather than depending on it as a fat loss tool. EMSculpt is a supplement, not an alternative, to diet and exercise. It is there to help you when diet and exercise have been attempted but have not produced a desired six pack or uplifted buttocks..

  • Plan to Stick to Diet and Exercise After

Just like EMSculpt can burn fat and improve muscle, so too can poor diet and no exercise bring it all back. Part of being a good candidate for the procedure is to be committed to your health and your body. Taking care of yourself in the long term will help you get better results.

  • Want to Avoid Liposuction and Plastic Surgery

There are other procedures that you may want to consider depending on your body type and needs, such as CoolSculpting or UltraShape power. These procedures can effectively and non-invasively reduce fat in many areas of the body.  Combined with EMSculpt, these procedures can contour your body and sculpt you muscles- all non-invasively with minimal discomfort and recover.

  • Need Muscle Definition

How Long Does EMSculpt Treatment Take?

EMSculpt is significant in the body sculpting field not just because of the results it gets, but because of how little time it needs to be effective. Doctors typically recommend a treatment plan of four, 30-minute sessions with EMSculpt, with two to three days between each session. These sessions take place in-office while you rest comfortably.

If necessary, more sessions may be scheduled in order to achieve the results a patient wants, but four is usually enough to reach most patients’ goals. Patients may even start seeing results by the third session. It helps to also come back every few months for single follow-up treatments, especially if you love the results.

When Can You See Results After EMSculpt?

Most people who undergo the recommended number of EMSculpt treatments begin to see results around the third or fourth session. The average results of the most common treatment areas (abdomen and buttocks), included 16% increase in muscle mass increase.  In addition, EMSculpt treatment program for the abs resulted in:

  • 19% fat reduction
  • 11% reduction in diastasis recti (separation of abdominal muscles)
  • 1.5-inch loss in waistline circumference

Patients’ bodies also experienced an increase in fat metabolism, and the results of their EMSculpt sessions were usually long lasting.

Over the next six months, most patients’ results continue to improve, especially if they were physically fit beforehand. The fat burned during the treatments left the body, allowing the firmer, more defined, and sculpted muscles to be more clearly visible.

About 96% of patients who have had EMSculpt, have reported feeling very happy and satisfied with the results of their treatment. EMSculpt helped them get to the next step of their ideal physical shape, a step that would have been very difficult if not impossible to get to through diet and exercise alone.

Are There EMSculpt Reviews?

EMSculpt has earned rave reviews from virtually everyone who has received treatments. It boasted a 96% patient satisfaction rate during clinical trials, and the written reviews online and offline can best be summed up as: “worth it!” It also holds a 100% satisfaction rate on the plastic surgery review website RealSelf.

Patients saw noticeable results like more toned abs and a firmer, more lifted butt in a shorter period of time with less effort, feeling both more beautiful and more toned with only a few treatments.

In reviews, patients especially liked that EMSculpt:

  • Is a painless procedure.
  • Provides clear muscle definition.

How Long Does EMSculpt Recovery Take?

EMSculpt gives you a better body without the risk. Since EMSculpt is a non-invasive procedure, it requires no recovery time. Come into the office, get treated, and walk out. It’s painless and you’re awake and fully alert before, during, and afterward.

There are no special pre or post-treatment preparation steps that are needed either. Many patients come in on their lunch break and leave to go back to work afterward.

You may experience muscle soreness in the days after an EMSculpt session, similar to the way you’d feel after a moderate to strenuous workout, but no pain. You can go right back to doing whatever you want to do after a session at the doctor’s office.

It’s the instant recovery that makes EMSculpt such a perfect treatment for getting that extra lift, tone, and definition that everyone loves.

What are the EMSculpt Risks?

Non-invasive body contouring procedures are a highly popular choice for many busy individuals who do not have time for surgery and post-surgery recovery. These procedures, like EMSculpt, avoid the potential risks that invasive procedures – like liposuction and butt lift – carry with them by avoiding incisions and cuts altogether. That means no pain, swelling, long recovery periods, or scarring.

By using electromagnetic waves to contract the muscles quickly and supermaximally in a targeted area, patients receiving EMSculpt are able to burn fat and build muscle at the same time without the need for pre and post procedure preparation, recovery time, or sedatives. Most people just feel a little sore after receiving an EMSculpt procedure. It is often described as they’ve had an intense workout that shows up a day or two later for only a short time.

Those that complete are able to go right back home or to work afterward, and no follow-up appointments are needed except to enjoy the EMSculpt procedure again.

Who is Not the Right Candidate for EMSculpt?

EMSculpt is a good solution for many people seeking to solve the problem areas that are hard to tone or lose extra fat. But, as with all medical procedures, it’s important to make sure that you are a good candidate for EMSculpt.

If you have any of the following conditions, it’s especially important for inform us because it could mean EMSculpt is not the best procedure for you:

Implanted Metal In the Areas of Treatment

Metal IUDs, metal mesh, and any other implanted metal that is right over the area that will be treated can interfere with the effectiveness of the treatment and the implanted metal device.

Pacemaker or Cardiac Defibrillator

The electromagnetic waves that EMSculpt uses to contract and tone your muscles can interfere with pacemakers and cardiac defibrillators.

Abdominal Hernias or Recent Abdominal Surgery

Receiving EMSculpt while having abdominal hernia or surgery, especially to tone the abdomen, is not a good idea as the stimulation could negatively affect your body’s healing process. It’s better to wait until your muscles are stronger on their own before further strengthening and defining them with EMSculpt.

Pregnancy

Women naturally gain weight and fat during pregnancy, and it may be tempting to try and tone and define certain areas of the body that don’t look like they used to. But you’ll get better results, and be better able to ensure your baby’s healthy growth during pregnancy, by avoiding receiving this procedure until after you’ve given birth.
